I always use Mar-Glas now, all their products. It works easily, and wont absorb water like Bondo will.

Bondo is a b%^&* to sand. It will shrink later on to screw that new paint up. I use geatherlite filler or this filler called half time. As with any filler I let em harden in good weather for a few days before I sand and prime. This will get all the shrinking out of the way. It's also a good idea to mix the units correctly. RandyB..

80classic, the first thing you have to remember is when people are talking about "plastic filler" the name "Bondo" is used when "plastic filler" should be. Or they may be talking about "Bondo" the brand name so be careful.

Johnny, there are other water proof plastic fillers out there, Evercoats "Kitty hair" and Tiger hair" are a couple.

Kitty hair is very easy to sand and really work little different from "regualr" plastic filler.

K... I've very successfully used bondo brand plastic filler before, I was just thinking maybe it haunts you down the road. I had no problems sanding it either - you just need to rough sand it after it's only been curing for 20 minutes, then let it finish setting up for a few hours and fine sand it.

My repair has survived two winters now on a bad rust problem spot for my car, so I'm happy with it, unless someone has info I've yet to find out about bondo repairs...

I used some stuff called "All Metal" it is aluminum body filler. I think it works great. Had to buy it at a body shop.
