Hello, I have no idea how old/new the suspension is on my 71 chevelle. I do know two things, the back is raised assuming in an attempt to get the dragster look *UGGGG* and when I go over any major bump and the suspension gets a workout it squeeks a bit. Now since I'm probably gonna replace the rear springs to attempt to get the stock level look I was wondering if anyone thinks this wil fix my squeekyness? Also any recomended online stores that sell good suspension parts for my car. I know SS396.com (ground up) sells springs but they are stock replacements. Any sugestions if I should just get those or go for something better? I really have no idea. I don't expect race car handleing or modern car comfort, but I would like my car to be lvl and not squeek, its mildly embarassing when I have passangers.

Maybe I should just get new shocks and springs for front and rear????

Your wise input would be greatly apreciated. Thank You.

Squeeks often come from worn bushings. Or possibly the previous owner replaced them with poly bushings.

Another thing to look for is the rubber spring insulator on the top of the rear springs. If they didn't put that back in it can cause some noise.

You might already have stock springs in the back, if they jacked the rear of the car up with air shocks.

For parts: Ground Up, PST, or even your local parts store can get you springs, shocks, and bushings.
