PAINTING A 72 DAILY DRIVER, JUST FIXING
A FEW SURFACE BLISTERS-RUST UNDER PAINT
AND I WANT TO KNOW WHAT TO SPOT PRIME WITH
TO BE FOLLOWED BY A FULL COAT OF EPOXY
PRIMER.. PPG IS MY SUPPLIER..

you probably want to use a self etching primer first. ppg has several avail. but maybe one of the pros on this board can
give you a number to use.

use a self etch primer first, dont use an expoy on on bare metal especially when its got rust formed on it. PPG is by far the most well known supplier and a good one from them is DX1791, dupont and their variprime and Sherwin williams and EG 983 I believe is the number to use. S-W has two or three different etch primers, one has better fill but lacks the rust resist, the other lacks fill but offers the best rust figthing properties. EG 980 is the fill etch and I think that 983 is the other etch with the better rust properties.

Once you got your etch down then go to a 2K primer like K36 or even NCP270/271...Eric
