Hello, I'm nearing the end of the restoration on my 67 and I need to install the drip rail trim. I did a search but only found how to remove the drip rail trim. What is the secret for installation. Is there a special tool to do this with? The car has a vinyl top.
Thanks
Roger

You just hang it on the top and snap it on. Start from the rear so that you get that end in the right place.

There is suppose to be some type of sealant in there. Do a search, I read it here

It's not easy, but it presses on by hand. Start by putting the trim over the top edge and pressing and pulling towards the bottom; then it will snap at the bottom. It also depends on how far your vinyl wraps around. The more vinyl the harder it will be. Any type of tool would probably damage your trim. Make sure you don't dent it by hitting it with your hands (even the palm) make sure that you only press. We had to do it twice on our '67.
Also, make sure that you have the proper over hang on both ends because once the trim is on you can't take it off without damaging it.
Good luck!

Hey, thanks for all the replys. I thought that maybe I was doing it wrong by having the vinyl wrap over the top edge of the drip rail. Jill made note that the more vinyl you have wraped over the harder it is, this may be my problem as I have about an 1/8 inch hanging over. I will trim it back a little more and try it again. Now is the drip rail trim the same for cars with vinyl tops as cars with out?
