Hi
What does self etching mean? What does it do for the metal? Thanks
Jerry

A self etching primer is one that has an acid in it that eats into the metal for adhesion and corrosion protection. PPG's dx1791, DPX 171, Dupont's variprime would be examples of an self etching primer. Apply a self etching primer first then followed by a primer surfacer(the primer that you block sand again and agian)...Eric
