Yes you can. Wear? Look in any Hemmings and there's mail supply houses that sell it.
With all of the great paint products like acrylic urethane on the market, I wouldn't use lacquer unless it was a 100% concours restoration.

I used lacquer once and will never do it again. It looks great, but chips easily. Repair of chips and scratches is supposed to be easy with lacquer, but, in my experience, it is not.

I got laquer from the Ditzler paint store. He said they are bringing it back because the "do it yourselfers" like it

Yes Dupont sells it. But like somebody already said, unless you absolutely need too I would not use it. Don't let BC/CC scare you. It is easier to use than lacquer I think.

whats nice about lacquer is that if you want to spot in a fender or a hood you can just blend it into the old paint, scuff and buff it, and its perfect.. BC/CC is about impossible to blend, and requires re-clearing the entire panel, which if its a 1/4 panel. is sometimes also impossible cause theres no seam to end on... I like the way lacquer gets a mile deep shine too, looks alot better when done right than the "fake" look of clear coat... jmo

My Chevelle is all lacquer paint and what you are saying Joey B is that I have have certain sections/panels painted on my Chevelle without painting the car and it would look exactly the same? Is this true also how would i touch up lacquer, I have touched up my CC paint on my 98 SS Camaro which came out near to perfect is that process the same or harder?
