: Wrong '68-'72 Rear Window

I recently bought a PPG replacement rear window for my '69 at a local auto glass shop. It looked identical but when I went to install it, it wouldn't work. It has the concave shape and the outline of the glass is nearly identical, but the bottom edge bows in towards the interior instead of out like the original glass. Doesn't come close to fitting. When you stand the old and new glass next to each other, the difference is apparent. Either it was mis-labeled or they made a mistake when ordering. They're closed til Monday. Anyway, does anyone know what this could fit in case I get the runaround? It's not for a 4 dr, I've checked that out. El Camino maybe? Another GM A body? I know the correct glass will fit a '68-'72 Chevelle 2 dr hdtp, '70-'72 Monte, and I believe '70-'72 Grand Prix.

Are you sure you dont have it backwards?I had to think about it a minute when i put my back glass in.

No it is not backwards. If you stand old and new up next to each other, with concave shapes facing the same direction, they are definately different.

Quite possibly for another model is the only thing I can figure. I just installed the back glass in my 69 chevelle. it was 1/16th thinner than the original. Youll need to shim it out to allow for the reveal moldings to fit correctly. Damn, wish I knew about that before I installed it. Hope this bit of info helps you out!!
