After getting my lovley 275-50-15 rear tire slashed (so glad im not in highschool anymore)I was in a dilema of what to do, ended up purchasing 2 new 275- 60 -15 Nitto 555r's and slapin em on, only to find that my driver side tire now rubs very bad. Its night time out right now and i took some snaps not sure if they will help. Im guessing from reading up through the forums that I need to replace my body bushings? perhaps my body has shifted. But in reading up ive come to see that this is very frustrating task. any suggestions? Also would most frame shops do this? and whats a estimated price for the task if i supplied the bushings. Is it true that an alternate solution would be to just get rims with a different back spacing that would give me the clearence i need? My wheels are 15x10 in the back with 5 inch back spacing.

Be sure to check all of your rear axle control arms and their bushings. I have seen them so worn/rotted on one side that the differential shifted. Unless you have installed a roll cage in the Elky there is no great problem replacing the body mount bushings. Just be sure to liberally soak the bolt threads before removal. If any body bolts are still reluctant then break out the torch and heat them a little.

Just hose down the bolts/threads like Thomas said, wet them down one weekend then replace the next (give them a week to soak you'll be glad you did) The rear control arms is another good idea. From the pics, looks like its moved about an inch and a half, you might need to 'roll the lips' to get good clearance. I'd think that a 10" wheel with 5" backspace would be correct. Most I've seen without tubbing have the backspacing 'centered' in the wheel width.

Okay checked out the controll arm bushings and they are S H O T, possibly so bad that the diffy has shifted like you say, I remember when my dad and I installed Nohop bars we had a VERY difficult time getting everything to line up, the differential moved after the controll arm was off the driver side and it was very hard to get back into position, possibly we are doing this wrong, ill do a search on replacing these bushings but anyone got a good site/post on how to? Also if i replace the bushings should i replace the controll arms as well? the lowers have been boxed.

If this helps...
