Which goes on first: 66 innner fenders or valence? It has been so long on my 66 I can't remember which goes in first the inner fenders or the Valence panel. I think the valence goes in first?
Thanks

I am doing a trial fit on the front end of my 66 before it goes in for paint.

I would get the assembly manual from our sponsor it gives all the detail you would need. I refered to it a dozen times during the assembly of the front end.

The outer and inner fenders are assembled. The rad support is attached then the fender assembly is attached.

If by valence you are talking about the piece below the windshield it goes on last.
GM calls that peice the "Grille Cowl Vent".

I think he's talking about that piece of metal in between the rad support (Grille) and the front bumper. (Radiator Grill to Bumper Filler Panel.)
I did it this way:
Bolt those two together. Then bolth those to the frame. Lay your inner fenders on your tires. Bolt your fenders on. Then bolt your inners to the fenders and to the rad support.

I do mean thee piece between the bumper and the grill. I'm just not real clear on what goes under or over it? I would guess that it goes in before the inner fenders because you can remove them while they are on the car hopefully with out taking the valence/ filler panel out. But I wans't sure.
