Someone give me their e-mail, to post a picture of this for me. Barn caught on fire and they pushed this out. The guys brother bought it new in 1970 and parked it in 1984 because the trans went out. He says it's the original motor and trans. I think it's a ls-5. Not to much damage from the fire. The windows look black from the smoke. It does have rust and no he won't sell it!

That's my car, I'm having trouble posting a picture, so I need someone to do it for me. That's why I need an e-mail address.

Sad thing is he probably has had many offers to sell it and it will end up like many other restorable cars, rotten away and then when the owner dies whoever has to clean up the property will have the car/cars hauled off and there wont be much left worth saving by then. Right across the street from my father his old neighbor had a 60's street rod he hauled home one day some 20+ years ago. That car sat in the yard beside his garage for a good 15 yrs at least. Over that time he had many offers to sell it and turned them down. It was a 30 or 31 model A Ford with all the period correct speed and custom parts etc , flat head with merc trans, 3 deuce carb edelbrock heads dropped chrome front axle etc. He had a offer of over $2500 about 7 years ago by my brother inlaw and was turned down more than once. Well one day before he moves after his second wife dies he sells it for a $1,000 and after 20 yrs of weather it wasnt even worth that much . I beleive soem people have no intentions of fixing any of this stuff up but keep it because they get kicks out of telling people no.

Some people just hang on to this stuff because they know many other people want it and in the end its that desirability that is all they have to hold on too. Its a kind of self satisfaction people have that they actually own something thats collectible. Thus will never sell it.

I know people like that and some of the cars are rusting away. You hear the same old line, "I'm gonna restore it one day". Ya in your _et dreams.
