I'll be spraying down my 71 chevelle sometime in the next couple weeks and need some help with selection of paint, body repair supplies, and compressor/gun selection. I do not have a lot of experience putting paint down but have laid a couple coats of dp90.

I have been looking into using U-Tech because I am a college student on a budget and will hopefully have the money to paint her again in a couple years. I need to fix some rust and a couple spots that have rusted through. I have looked at using por epoxy putty and saw they have some body filler on their site also. I have also looked at 3m products. What do you reccomend?

What kind of primer should I lay on the car? I will be sanding it but not to bare metal.

Then a bc/cc on top of that. right? Any specific type?

Then a clear, any reccomendations?

How many coats do I need and which coats can I sand?

I currently have a husky 6hp 30 gallon compressor that is oil free will this be okay?

I have a craftsman siphon feed hvlp gun pn.15519 my dad said it was almost $200 but is it a piece of junk? Will this gun do okay or should I get something else, reccomendations?

Where can I get U-tech paint? Any one know of a place in the Tampa Bay area?

Remember I am on a tight budget < $400 if possible. I have read hundreds of posts on this site just need some personalized info. Thanks for the help I need it.
