Hello. read a couple old posts and didn't find the answer I was looking for. Have a 69 ElCamino, bench seat, M22 4spd. The Hurst Indy shifter seems a little to the left. I like it there, but am welding new floors in this weekend. Looking at pictures in the Paddock, the hump for the 66-67 looks like what I need. (the hole looks to be in the right spot). Floorpans are all the same, should fit right in. Any input? I'm not concerned with originallity, just function and clean looks. Thanks for ANY advice.

I would think you would want to get the hump for a '69 w/o console. That one should fit your application the best. You should call Paddock and talk to them first though. ;)
I understand what you are saying. Why not use the hump for my car? Because from what I can tell from a picture, the 66-67 hump opening is a little to the left. Less fabrication work for me. Floors are the same 64-72. I doubt I'm the first one to do this. I need the hump anyway, just want the one that will fit best with my shifter. Also, can I just weld my new floors over the rockers? I know the were sandwiched between, but is it necessary? Thanks again.

Actually the floors are not the same from 64-72. 68-72 is the same, not sure about earlier years but I know they are not the same as 68-72.

I did the same thing only I used a B&M Hammer shifter. It is a bit difficult with an after market (automatic) shifter but was well worth the effort.
Along with the 4sp shifter hump w/o console, I bought the carpet for a 4sp w/bench seat.

i really cant answer your question, but i know from my install of the hurst indy that the 66-67 shift hump patch panel is not as big as it looks in the picture. i had to enlarge the hole that the shifter goes through to get it to fit over the indy shifter, and i had to add a few strips of sheetmetal to fill in a couple of voids because of the shifter location. i also bought a repro shift boot and boot retainer ring for 66 which are an oval shape, but since the indy shifter sticks out of the hump so much the shift boot doesnt fit. i may have been able to take care of this had i tried the boot before i welded it all up, but its too late now.
i really think the 69 shift hump w/o console would work best for you. if im not mistaken it has a large square opening for the shifter and looks taller. finding a shift boot would be no problem as anyone and everyone makes a square rubber shift boot.
