Has any one installed the top rail to a reproduction door panel? I bought a set of PUI door panels and need to assemble them. I got a really good deal on these, a guy bought them and never used them. Thanks.

I only use this type of door panel B/C they are a LOT cheaper than the pre-assy ones and will look as good.
I start by cleaning off all the old adhisve with Xeyloel sovent or paint stripper. Then wash the metal part with soap/water then rubbing alcohol.
To attach the panel,I use 3M spray adhisve and 2 1/8 cherry rivets.I spray both sides (metal panel and cardboard ) about 1.5",masking off the top of the metal panel. After the adhisve has gotten "tacky" I put the parts together and clamp down using a scrap peice of wood.I whait a couple of hours, until dry.I then drill a 1/8 hole at each end of the panel and install a rivet with a washer there.I smash the rivet down with a hammer and dolley so the panel won't raise up then installed.I remove the masking tape and spray the rest of the metal panel and the foam, whait until "tacky" and lay down the foam.Do the same with the outer vinyl cloth,Install the inner fussieys and your done.
