A guy at a local speed shop told me I need to remove the pin from my 12 bolt rear end in order to remove the axles. I pulled the pin and in the process of trying to get it back together, one of the small spyder gears fell out of the housing. I have tried my darnedest to get it back together but I can't get the pin to fall into place. I have it through the gear on top put it seems to be about a 1/8 inch off from sliding through the gear on the bottom. Can someone please shed some light on this for me. Thanks, Mike

try to realign the pinions so that they are 180 degrees from one another
it sounds like you are a tooth off

I agree, you have the small gear (pinion) off a tooth. Be sure that the thrust waswhers are still behind the gears.

If the washer is out, you will have to pull the pin, and start over. They are REAL EASY to fall out! I take wheel bearing grease and coat them good before installing.
