I Have A 402 That Has Weiand 7544 Intake. The Motor Was In My Chevelle And Ran Great But I Am Painting The Car And Decided To Clean Up The Motor As Well. The Intake Does Not Cover The "water Jacket "??? Located In The Middle Of The Heads. I Can Not Remember What It Looked Like Before I Took The Intake Off. The Intake Gasket Covers The Water Jacket Or What Ever It Is Called But The Intake Does Not. The Motor Was Always Very Dry On Top I Did Not Notice Any Leaks. Is This Normal Or Do I Have The Wrong Intake?????

I think your talking about the heat crossover , which is not a water jacket .The water jackets are located on each end of the heads, you should be fine . i have seen alot of intakes exactly the way your desrcibing!! in fact mine has the same issue!

The felpro or mr. gasket ultra-seal gaskets will cover that.
