I had a charging problem and ended up replacing the voltage regulator. (First one was bad out of the box)
Now I know the systems charging. BAttery reads 12.5V. at idle. 14.5 volts when engine revs. Before it wasn't charging.
Whats strange is. With engine off, turn on headlights, amp gauge reads +30 Amps. Engine on at idle 1 peg negative.
Rev the motor up... - 30 amps. At idle -1 Turn on headlights.... + amps
It's almost like the amp guage has reversed polarity and reads backwards.
Could I have screwed up the amp guage with a bad voltage regulator?
