I need to 2 new fenders and not wanting to use the re-pop junk(nothing has fit so far) I figure if I'm gonna have to make it fit anyway I might as well play with plastic. Has anyone used fiberglass fenders from Unlimited? Or are there other vendors out there doing 'glass that might be better-just wondering how bad the fittment will be. BTW 68 Elco

I have a hood from UP on my 67. The fit is not all that great. Glasstek has a lot nicer looking and I bet a lot nicer fitting stuff with a nicer price (higher). Pretty much get what ya pay for. I was just looking over the hood as this AM as I ponder my painting project. Fit is not to bad side to side, the front looks OK, but the gap between the firewall is pretty inconsistent side to side. I'm not a body guy, but that is all the closer I could get it. If you're just racing, it's fine. Street car, not so great.

I have to say first, I have no idea how any of these brands of fenders fit. I have however installed MANY fiberglass parts over the years, from aftermarket to NOS OEM Shelby, there are VERY FEW fiberglass parts that come close to a metal part fit, VERY FEW. In fact, the only ones I can even think of are original OEM parts like a new Vette Or late model Camaro/Firebird doors, or any Late model car with original SMC fiberglass parts.

I have NEVER seen an aftermarket part of any kind fit without a LOT of modification, NEVER.

So, the point I am trying to make is this, if you want fiberglass fenders for what ever reason, they are "cool", they are "lighter" (they're not unless they are very thin "race" parts) or they just give you a "goowy" feeling, go for it use fiberglass. But if you think they are going to fit better than some repop metal ones, you are kidding yourself.

Again, I don't know, these fiberglass ones you are talking about may be the first good fitting ones I would ever see, I don't now. I am just going with years of fitting fiberglass parts.

You know Memory Lane in sun Valley CA. has lots of useable fenders. This is used OEM stuff, so you know it fits.

I could have picked up a good 9no dents0 fender for my 70 Chevelle a while back for $200. That's a huge deal back in Ohio. Sadly, I could not load it in the overhead on the plane. :(

I heard from quite a few people Unlimited isnt the best way to go. If you go with fenders I would check out Harwood, I got a 4" Pin on hood from them, always heard good things. No matter where you get them though there will need some sanding and fitting, etc. I've yet to see something for the body "fit out of the box" But Harwood makes real good stuff.

You can still get NOS fenders from the dealer for that 68 of yours. I have no idea what condition they'd be though. Makes me wonder why they've been on the shelf for 30+ years.
