I hope this is not a stupid question, I have always been taught that the only stupid question is the question that is never asked!! Anyway I have converted my small block to a Big Block, 71 chevelle, and am in the process of doing all the little things and have recently hooked up the radiator hoses and noticed that the upper hose has a small incline to the engine, is this a problem? I followed all the procedures to convert to a big block, I hope!! Thanks for your advice on this minor problem.

I wouldn't think that would be a problem. There should be enough pressure in the system so it won't matter.

Cruzer...I am finishing up a 307/PG to 454/TH400 swap in my '71 now. The top radiator hose I installed also has about a 3/4"-1" incline about 7" from the water neck (on the intake). It is the highest point in my cooling system. So far it hasn't been a problem for the motor, as the car runs between 180 (moving) and 210 (longest redlight so far).
One thing that I did (that I may change) was to wire only one of the electric fans to the in-cylinder head sender. I wired the other for manual operation. I did this so that I could "semi" control the current draw since I'm only running a 62 amp alternate at present. I'm sure a 100 amp unit is in my future, but the priority was to get the car up and running.
