this is non chevelle but still chevy i have a chevy s-10 4x4 that has some rust bubbles starting under the paint it looks like it has been repainted or cleared before my question is after i sand down and repair the rust and prime is it ok to paint over the clear coat or do i have to sand that down to the color coat i understand that the area of the repair will be bigger than the rust area and it has to be featherd but i'm going to paint the whole pannel to get a better match of paint so can i paint over the clear coat? thanks for your help ed smile.gif

scuff the complete panel, blend your color out past the repair then clear the complete panel.

thanks for the reply i figured that was all just wanted to make sure am going to paint the whole panel to match better figured i could do it cheeper than 6-700 i was quoted for 5 rust bubbles in various spots thanks again
