does anyone know if you have to pull the dash out to remove an instrument cluster with gauges on a 70 chevelle ss thanks gary

I'm 99% sure you just have to remove top of dash - disconnect wiring harness, light bulbs and speedo cable. Remove about 6 hex screws and tilt it out. There might be wires hooked to the ammeter also. About a 1hr project as I recall. Good luck Jon

You can do it, but it will take you twice as long and your arms will be scratched and bruised from trying to get to all the little connections. It is MUCH simpler to loosen the dash enough for it to drop down.
