my tires are 295 by 50 and rims are 11.5 by 16 the current tire rubs on the outer fender but its just the side of the tire. the tire the shop recomended was a 275 by sothing but thats when i wassint sure what the rim size was the tire brand was mickey tompsons can i get a wider tire with liss diamater???? or any other suggesations.

im running BFG T/As P295/50 15s on 10 inch welds fits great no rubbing, its 26 inches top to ground. a buddy of mine has17 x 91/2 rims with275/55 tires and his dont rub but it is damn close on a 71 chevelle. hope this helps

I had 17X9.5" rims with 295/40/17on the rear of my 72 chevelle with no rubbing issues. From your pictures it looks like you don't have enough offset on your rims.

I've encountered very slight tire/fender rubbing before; I put on some heavy leather gloves and gave the wheel openings a tug. That's all it took.

yes the offset is where it needs to be i have at least 2 inches of clearance on the inside of the fender but the outer rubs my tires are 26 tallany one know if they make mickys a little smaller

The 11.5" rim width sounds like the problem.

2" of clearance on the inside is too much, you need 4.5" or 5.5" of backspacing to get a wide tire under there. I run a 15x10 rim, 5.5" backspacing, 1/2" clearance on the inside with 30x10.5x15 slicks on it. I did have to trim the outside lip for the 10.5" tire, 30x9's fit perfect.

i ran 295 d/r's, on 15 x 10, 5.5 b/s-minor rub in back inside @ times

You're offset's not right....you need about 5" offset to get a 295/50 in there.

that sucks guess ill buy the 275 50 16 and save for new rims

With 11.5" rim. You need 6.25" back spacing
