In 68, for the factory dash gauges, in reference to the "BATT" gauge, where did the two black wires (one black and one black with white strip) connect to in the engine compartment from the factory?

See pic below. Black w/white strip goes to main splice, black to junction block on rad support. If you are adding the gauge, you can use the horn relay buss bar for the black w/white strip.
