Here is the link. Looks very nice and I'm in driving distance. I know you can't tell the car's condition from pics, but what do you guys think? This will be my first Chevelle, and I have never owned a older car. The description says the body is rust free. If the car is not as described when I go to pick up, I will not take it.
Price is at $10,000 right now and it doesn't look like it is going to go up by much.
chewyman1 Jun 11th, 06, 6:55 PM If it is as he describes, it's a steal at 10K considering todays prices for the 70 chevelles. Figure to sink another grand or so into the interior to bring it up to the level of the outside, and you'll have a very very nice car to brag about. Be sure to ask him if you do buy it what the buttons under the glove box are for, and about any quirks or anything out of the ordinary for the car. Good Luck
Skier_Bob Jun 11th, 06, 7:06 PM go for it. you'll have a blast.....
396bigblockchevelle Jun 11th, 06, 7:13 PM I think those "buttons" are the vent controls, aren't they?
The car looks great. Nice color.

victionone Jun 11th, 06, 7:20 PM Thanks for the quick replies. I spoke with the seller and so far he had a few people look at the car, but no bites.
fasted1500 Jun 11th, 06, 7:30 PM Have you seen the car in person??
victionone Jun 11th, 06, 7:35 PM No I haven't...
I was just notified of this car this morning, and the auction is ending in 2 hours. I figure if it is not as described, I will not buy it.

Which is how negative feedbacks are born!!! Backwards thinking IMHO, look and inspect the car first, then bid, not the other way around!!!!

A little advice, stay away from the ( Exc/Show ) prices........Don
Steve S Jun 11th, 06, 8:13 PM Your bid is a contract - Place a bid only if you're serious about buying the item. If you are the winning bidder, you will enter into a legally binding contract to purchase the item from the seller. You should contact the seller to resolve any questions before bidding.

Understood. And I have every intention of buying, but what if the car is nothing as described? Am I still binded to contract?
The price has been going up! I'm still keeping my eye on it.
SuperChevy402 Jun 11th, 06, 8:29 PM Kick the tires, then buy. Looks nice though, the interior needs some work but body and paint look quite good.

Yes, which is why you shouldn't bid on a car you haven't seen in person, or had somebody inspect for you. Don't bid on it if you're not prepared to buy it, regardless of what you find "wrong" with it AFTER the auction!
gspan1830 Jun 11th, 06, 9:30 PM Did ya get it?
victionone Jun 11th, 06, 9:34 PM I won the auction!!! I'm going to call the seller and schedule a pickup tomorrow!
Stickman Jun 11th, 06, 9:38 PM victionone...congrats. That looks like a pretty good deal for 12K. Enjoy!
Alwhite00 Jun 11th, 06, 9:57 PM Very nice, You got a great deal @ that price. Stick a grand into the interior and you have a "10" - Has a 9" ford by the looks of it, Nice easy gear changes.

Skier_Bob Jun 11th, 06, 10:13 PM All right!! Way to make it happen!!!
victionone Jun 11th, 06, 10:58 PM Im very excited right now. Can't wait to pick it up!
I have acutally been looking for a 69 Camaro since last Summer, but have had no luck. Growing up, my uncles all had 1st gen F-bodies, so I always had an attachment to them. In the end, I just didn't want to pay the price they are going for.
I started looking at other cars, and after seeing a couple 70 Chevelles, they started to look so beautiful to me. Soon, I knew I just had to own one!
Junkyard Dawg Jun 12th, 06, 5:29 AM Let's hope it's not a rust bucket with 10 gallons of bondo trialed over each side and holes in the floor boards. Otherwise I'd say you got a deal.
Don't have too much fun with it....big blocks and no power brakes = problems. Get you some power brakes.
66 Buick Special Jun 12th, 06, 7:34 AM Congrats! It definitely looks sweet on camera!
Junkyard, your comment brought an immediate image of a "flintstone" stop to mind!
