This morning I went to a yard sale and picked up two th400's and a 350 block out of a 94 suburban for $250.00 total. I hope I did alright, the items are definately used, but I figured it was a good buy. What do you all think?

If you have a use for them, I think you did OK......

Sounds fair to me. TH400 cores are typically around $100 each and $50 for a 350 block.

Yes I thought it was fair for the th400's, and the 350 was a complete motor it had just been sitting in a garage for about 5 years.

All depends......were the TH400's short tailshaft or long tailshaft.
I've got a long tailshaft here I'll give away.
I know the guts are the same with the exception of the output shaft itself, but it's the short shaft cases that are worth the money.
TH400 short shaft core = $150
TH400 long shaft core = $50

The engine ?????
well, I guess you'll have to get it apart to know what it's worth.
If it's got cracked heads and a bad crank, you lost.
350 2 bolt blocks are cheap

Both of the tranny's are short shafts and as far as the motor is concerned, I primarliy bought it, for the roller cam set up block to have a new 383 built out of it. I have a pair of Dart Pro one heads to slap on a new motor, and would of course go with a new rotating assembly also. So if the block is ok, I will be happy. Also I believe that the motor is a four bolt main and came out of a 94 Suburban..

They are getting tough to find, that is why I jumped all over the two I just found. Even if a person can find one on EBAY the shipping costs usually far outweigh any value you have gotten with the tranny!!!!!!!

94 suburban should have 1 piece rear main seal too which is better.

Thats what I was counting on. So am I correct that this should be four bolt main block?
