I have a 70 monte frame that is in good shape I have a buddy that has a 65 el camino that the frame is falling apart, with some work and welding will we be able to use the frame for his poor car?
Thanks Steve

I would check the wheel base on both cars - if they are the same then you may have a chance. I know the Monte Chassis is longer in the front and the El Camino is longer in the back. If the wheel base is the same I imagine any fabrication can make it work. Maybe someone else will chime in here. I would first check the wheel base measurements.

Thanks, I was thinking the same, I know the Monte was built on a 4-door frame, but that is all I know about them.

I think you can use parts of the Monte frame. I thought the front frame horns on the Monte was where the length was added (that's why there's a 55 gal, drum used as a fan shroud).
The Elco frame is boxed, whereas the Monte is open. I think dimensionally, everthing behind the front horns is the same, just open.
Slice and dice.
