Yes it works but remember all the places you can't paint will now be bare and will start to rust. I would look into having it plastic media blasted, we had a shop do the cab of dad's 53' five window this summer for a hair over $400. If you do have the plastic done you still have to hit it with a D/A with 80 then 180 before you etch prime. Zach

Most of the faculties that do acid dipping also offer a electro-etch primer as well. That is the ultimate primer job-they dip the whole body in primer and I have seen it, it looks awesome. Last guy I spoke to who had his car stripped and primed in the tank ran 1800 for the whole job.

Just had a 67ss acid diped it is the best way to go just make sure you get car diped in primer because acid dip leaves all metal exposed.

I just pulled a 69 Camaro in the shop that was dipped. The owner showed me photos of the tub and parts after the dipping process and it looked sweet! The first coats of primer were applied by another shop before the owner pulled it out but they did an excellent job getting the primer in all areas. E-coat would be the ultimate especially if epoxy was applied next. Getting primer into the nooks and crannies isn't all that difficult, heck even a rustproofing applicator can be used in blind areas, but the surface has to be completely clean which can be difficult in some areas.
