Today I ordered a gallon of that Por-strip paint remover. Just wondering if anyone has used it again if so what were there thoughts with the stuff?

I have used the POR-Strip and although it was fine on "lighter" duty stuff it was a real PITA when it had to deal with multiple coats of paint. I also had problems with the spray bottles as I had a couple of them "melt" from the chemicals. I ultimately switched to Aircraft Paint Stripper (3M) which worked better through the thick paints. Even so, after all the chemical stuff was done, I still had to sand everything down with 80 grit and then 160 before getting to the steel.

Keep in mind, that by using chemical's you have the potential to create a mess. It is absolutely critical that there are no traces whatsoever of any chemical. Lest it destroy your new body work.

Sorry the reply is so long but I wanted to be helpful. Hope it helps.

I have had very good results with the product except for the spray bottles.
I have gone through 2-3 coats of paint, bondo and even dura glass. The only thing that slowed it down was All-Metal.
If I had a good way to spray the stuff it would work even better, you have to be patient and let it work (15-20 min.per application).
I used a gal. and striped the rear of my car excluding trunk lid and doors, if the sprayers worked I would have had enough for them also. I reordered and I am using paint stripper pads and scrubbing the metal along with the por strip to remove what is left, I think after this there will not be much to sand but I will sand it just to remove any resedue.
I then plan to spray it with metal ready and prime with an epoxy primer.
Hope this helps?
