can anyone tell me if this vin 136379K333746 represents a real ss car or if its just a regular chevelle. thank you

No real way to tell from just a VIN unless it is a COPO listed at the SYC site and those are baltimore cars. Build sheet or other documentation is the way to go and the generally accepted proof although there are fakes being made even today. I would like to get the complete trim tag data to add it to my research if you don't mind. You can PM me or add it to this thread. Andy

From 69 up the Malibu will have the same VIN as an SS would. SS was just an option on the Malibu, like power steering, radio, A/C etc. I suppose they were trying to help the customer because insurance companies were raising rates on high performance cars like the SS and having its own model made it easy game. Of course that has little effect as the insurance companies caught on real fast..
