I saw the previous post and did a search on both Custom Auto Sound and Ken Harrison. The feedback on the Custom Auto Sound was a definite "garbage" but I couldn't find any opinions on Ken Harrison's stuff. A couple of posters had bought his stereos but hadn't yet installed them. Can anyone give me an informed opinion on how Harrison's stuff fits and sounds?

Thanks.

I have not heard or even seen a Ken Harrison unit but I can tell you he used to work for Custom Auto sound and became disgusted with the product and went out on his own. I have tried to reach him on several occasions without sucess. Also OPG has quit carrying the custom auto sound products. That's gotta tell you something.

my wife bought me a ken harrison radio for my 67 el camino for christmas. it is terrible. the first thing that dissappointed me were the knobs. they are much smaller than originals an stick out farther than originals. i thought i would live with that, but it plays horrible. it gets very poor reception even from stations close by. i called the factory and they were very nice to talk to, but all they can do is have me remove it and send it back which we all know is a giant pain! i guess i'll pull it out this winter and send it back but i'll have to suffer through the summer.

i just helped a friend install a Harrison unit in his 66 chevelle.
i had to massage the plastic bezel with a file for a real good fit.
as mentioned, knobs are something to be desired.
plays good with the single dual speaker up front and two 6x9's in the rear.
he's happy.

I was talked into The Ken Harrison as OPGI said they will no longer carry the Custom auto sound products. I am VERY dissapointed in the Ken Harrison radio. IF he left to make better products OMG the Custom Audio ones must be scrap metal. The knobs are small which fine whatever. It does not sit in the bezzel right than when you make it work you have to back the shafts out so far to see the entire display that you have 2 1/2 inch shafts that you can see and nothing to hide them. Okay forget that even.. I put in the best speakers I could find front and back and a 800 watt amp a 60 gig Ipod in place of the CD and no matter what the sound quality is the worst I have ever herd. We have tried everything speaker changes no amp differnt amp doesnt matter just bad sound. Okay forget that and the reception is from like 1950 if that. Horrible reception.. Just POOOOR quality Someone would clean up if any of you can put together a company to produce good quality audio for our classics. DO NOT waste your money on Ken Harrison its no bette than Custom Audio. Find another option!!

I put one in my 72 SS. I'm happy. Not a perfect fit but looks good, sounds good. I had a Custom Audio sound in a 67 GTO and this is a step forward.
