Anyone have any experience on installing these three pieces. Manual does not mention anything. Did a search no info. Any help would be appreciated.
Never mind I have started.
Having problems. Not the trim. The hardware used to secure the back edge of the top (long plate ) top materia goes behind it them bolted to the car.Plate was installed to high. The bottom edege of the trim wont pass beteen the top material and the metal edge of the car where the trim goes back under the edge. I think I can loosen the plate if it's not glued to the metal
Thanks

You did not mention the year. am only speaking on experence on 64 to 67 Chevelles.
the side one go on the of the 1/4 and have screw to the inner body panel and a fastener in the rear corners 64/65 and clips 66/67.
the rear BIG piece on 64/65 have clips accross the molding that secure it to the pinch weld.
The rear top fastener strip is not glued. It is used to secure the the top, well liner and rear window the the rear body panel.
If you cannot gain access loosn the srews the hode it across the rear. I would not remove them !!!!

1964 Conv. Finished in about two hours. Had some problems with the way the top mounting hardware was installed to close to the pinch weld. Wouldn't let the bottom edge of the molding slip between the top material and the pinch weld. Loosened bolts that held the bar and used a block of wood covering the top material with a towel and hit the wood block with a rubber dead hammer.
Tools used:
Tape, marking pen, rubber dead hit hammer.
Special type clips that go on the pinch welds on all three sides. Found at Hill Co Fasteners in Garden Grove, Ca. Used 25 clips.
I had previously marked the molding where the clips had been. If you failed to do this, you can see wear marks in the inside of the molding, I also have a piece of tape on the bright side of the molding to mark where the clips are located. Once the molding is installed you can't see the clips. I think I may need this reference to install the convertible boot. May have to cut clearance relieves in the boot mounting tabs where the clips are. Boot does not snap onto molding. Teflon strip sewn into edge of boot slips between the molding and paint.
I was concerned once I mounted the back strip I would not be able to slide the overlapping side trim onto the back piece. Just don't secure the back trim all the way.
Start at the center of the back piece and work toward the corners; work the two pieces together at the corner everything will go into place.
Sorry I got a little windy here.
