: HELP...removal of vinyl trim

I am now in the process of removing my vinyl top and I need to know how to take off the chrome trim pieces. I know that the pieces in the back are bolted down from the inside of the trunk but what about the trim on the side? Help on any parts of this removal would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I had the same problem/ I ended up using a bottle opener. The kind with the rounded side.

So the side trim is glued on or what? Do I need that special tool people have told me about? I definately have a can opener that I could sneak from my mom.

Use the bottle opener for the drip rail and the lower molding uses spring clips. I went through the same thing lately. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/Forum3/HTML/001854.html

The thin mldgs at the lower edge of the vinyl top as well as the rear edge near the trunk lid are held on by plastic clips. Pop them off gently with a stiff putty knife. The pot metal corners are bolted through the body. Get to the nuts from inside the trunk.
