My low-beams will not come on. The dimmer switch will set the hi-beams (all 4 lights) on, you click the switch and all 4 lights go off (parking lights stay on). I replaced the switch as one of the two switch output was definitely bad (no continuity), but still have the same problems; click switch = hi-beams, click switch = no lights.

Is there a relay that this switch controls or do the outputs of the switch go directly to the headlights? Is there a fuse in line that could cause this problem?

Does anyone have a link to electrical prints for the headlights?

thx for any help!!

No fuses, no relays.

Just one power in and two power outs. Since you have high beams you obviously have power in and one of the power outs works :)

I would get out either a test light or voltmeter and check the other power output. If nothing, you know you need a foot switch. If you have voltage there then you have a wiring problem somewhere between the foot switch and the head light. Connections are always a good place to check and the only one in between is the bulkhead connector...

Thanks Steve, I'll check the wiring connections. Of the 3 connections on the switch there are 4 wires. 2-wires go to one connection and 1-each to the 2nd and 3rd connection. Of the 4 wires to the switch do you know which is the hot and which ones are for the hi-beams and low-beams (do you have a wiring manual that shows the colors)?

thx again,

2 wires sounds like high beam: one to headlights and one to indicator light.
Light green is the high beam power output.
Tan is the low beam power output.
Light blue should be the power input.

Yep, I have one or more copies of the wiring diagrams.

Make sure your low beams aren't burnt out. the low beams will kick on in high beam. Jim

Does that mean that all 4 headlights will come on even if the low beams are burnt out?

yes. the low beam lights have high beams in them also thats why there is three prongs on the low beam lights and two on the high beam lights. usually youll drive around with one burnt out and not realize it unless someone tells you, or when the other burns out and then you have no low beams. Jim
