Are they any good? My battery seems to run down if I let my car (66 Chevelle SS) set for more than three weeks without running. I've tried to track down the slow electrical drain but have not had any successful so far. Disconnecting after and reconnecting the battery cable before I use the car is a real pain. Does my console clock pull more current than what the low-amperage fuse link on the battery disconnect allows through? I think I saw that the fuse will permit a 0.3A flow

Do you have a meter. Since it is taking 3 weeks for the battery to drain, the drain must be low. Disconnect pos battery cable and put the meter in series between cable and battery to find out how many miliamps it is draining.

Whose disconnect switch are you refering to? Its most likely 3 amp. A .03 fuse wouldn't power anything and would probably blow as soon as the door was opened (if it was wired to feed the whole car). In any event you would want one with a self resetting breaker, like this one

With a 3 amp fuse you would still have your original problem as your drain is a lot less than that. Have you tried disconnecting the clock?

Thanks David but that one would still prevent current flow to my clock and preset memory for my radio. It would prevent my battery from running down.
