Has anyone tried this Mirra Chrome from Alsa

http://www.alsacorp.com/products/mirrachrome/mirra_price.htm

I watched the video's they have on their site. It is expensive but appears very close to chrome.

I haven't tried the stuff yet but am a little concerned about compatability with other products. It is a laquer based product and I wonder how it would react if applied over and under urethane products. It would definately adhere fine I'm sure but topcoating with a urethane clear may be difficult especially since it can't be scuffed for adhesion. One possible solution may be to topcoat it with a laquer clear and allow it to cure then scuff and follow with a urethane clear. I'd hate to go back to laquer only products just to use this paint, durability would suffer. Maybe someone else here will chime in that is familiar with it. Bob

I did my 70 SS RS with hugger orange lacquer and used R&M urethane. It has been to long to remember the product #'s. One thing on R&M if they say 2 coats clear only they mean it. Don't ask me how I know. I think it was one of the hardest clears I have ever sanded. It made one beautiful finish. I cannot remember what primer or sealer but I know it was a two part. Been too long. I tried different products. I thank one of the easiest I used was Delton and it is a good product.

I remember using the R&M urethane clear designed for use over laquer, yellow and white can but can't remember the part number. And yes you only needed two coats as it was very thick. Deltron's Delglo clear was out at about the same time and was suitable for use over laquer. At that time most of the shops were using laquer basecoat while the paint companies were ironing out the problems with the true urethane systems like DBU, etc. I think HOK has urethanes designed for use over laquer products so that may be an option.
