Man, you put a big smile on my face, watching this.

You also intrigued me enough to click on your web page, great job, lots of useful info, great pics, etc.

Drag clips are great but this is the first road-race clips I've seen and I'm very impressed. Great elco, too.

Very cool. The part of the track where it was black and divided freaked me out a little, thought there was something in the road.
That Viper was haulin the mail too.

Awesome video!!!:hurray:

I road raced a "cough, cough.." VW Rabbit "cough" for 3 years in the late eighties. I used to flat tow it with my '67 El Camino!!!
I sold the Rabbit when I had wrung everything I could get out of it and wanted to go faster. If I'd have known that an El Camino could handle like yours I would have put the money from the sale into it!

Your video brought back a lot of memories. Your Elky handles incredibly and your driving was very smooth! I'm envious!

Your website was top notch as well!

I plugged a new movie a local guy is making a couple of weeks ago on here. It will have some vintage road race footage in it that you might like.
His website is www.clutchthemovie.com

Thanks again!

What is with you and having the windows down while your lapping? lol. Cool vids, thanks for sharing :-)

It's the rules. Plus it was 90+ degrees. :) I think my camera has wind noise reduction and I intended to use it but, like a few other things, didn't have time to mess with it. Hey, at least I got the camera mounted better.

Hey, at least I got the camera mounted better.

Yeah, some of the early videos had some great moments where I was sitting up trying to see over the top of my monitor. :D

What kind of odd rules make u have your windows down? The camera mount is very very good. I was doing the same thing as Dan72 before haha.

Hey Keith,

Awesome video! It's impressive how 'quiet' your hands are while driving; a credit to your suspension. It's great watching the flapper open and you blow by other cars. What's in that Vette?

Paul Thanks Paul! If you're referring to the yellow roadster, that's a Viper SRT10, The 505 hp variety. He was driving it like he stole it. I wanted to see if I could hang with him but there was too much slower traffic and I wasn't as aggressive passing as I could have been.

Some groups say all the way up or all the way down, your choice. This one said all the way down only. It's for safety in the event of a roll over or some other accident. It keeps the glass inside the door instead of all over the driver if it breaks or if the safety crew had to break it to extract the driver. Why all the way up at the drag strip?? I have no idea.

I love watching the cowl flapper pop open every time you stomp the gas pedal and open up that big 496 stroker! Very Cool...

I don't know Paul. I didn't get a chance to look at any of the other cars there or watch any of the racing. I was either on the track, in the classroom, or working on my car.

It looks like in the middle of the second video, a red car went off the track in one of the turns. Like a red Mustang maybe? Hard to tell.

Yep. Hit the brakes a little too late. All four tires off the track and you're out for the rest of the session.

The rules at the track you go to seem very strange. Sounds like they're trying to make it a sunday drive. Often going off the track is safer than trying to stay on it when things get hairy.

All of the west coast venues will pull you in for an off track excursion but not park you. Repeated offences will result in going home. In fact, I have never heard of a venue anywhere in the country automatically black balling a driver one off track adventure...I agree, weird.

Im all for keeping the drivers at check, as most suck on the road courses, but I also think you go to the track to push the car safetly, and u cant explore the cars limits (the limits u can take it to at least), without getting a little risky at times.

cool videos & website. Thanks for sharing.

I love the sound of the stroker, esp. with that cam!

I`d love to build up a road race car one day...

I said off for the session, not the rest of the day. They want you to clean any debris off the car and get it re-teched. Seems reasonable to me. Who knows what damage may have happened.
