First post....:waving:
I am pulling apart a real good running stock lower mile 1986 454 to check bearings...etc...install Lun 60202 cam, & a set of 1969 #290 heads. I read in another thread a discussion on head gasket diffences between pre & post 84 454s. Exactely what Fel Pro complete gasket set part number should I be ordering for this combination??
I will raise comp some with these heads (9-9.5-1??) but could I run a thinner head gasket to improve my comp some more? What one?
Present oil pressure is very good with very little drop at idle (300kil & 260 @ idle??..stupid metric gages:rolleyes: ) would you replace the oil pump too?
I am beginning to think it's not necessary on a mild street motor that'll be rarely abused?
Any comments on my cam choice for a 3.23 geared - M-21 vette
Finally, I have been lurking & reading for a couple weeks & want to say what a great bunch of knowledgable guys so willing to help others :beers:
I only hope I can help contibute in some little way!
Before you throw stones because I'm a Vetter, I did own a 67 Beaumont SD 396 4sp back in the day, I guess that's as close to a chevelle as one could get :D
