How many of you guys have a problem w/the passenger side pillar paint cracking? This is my 3rd Chevelle, and 2 have done it (maybe the 3rd did too but it had vinyl so I dont know). I assume this is frame flex. My body bushings look good. Anything else I need to look for, or just accept the fact that the car is 36 years old and sh**t happens?

Where is the cracking? Near the corner of the windshield? There is lead in this area that deteriorates over time, once it starts to seperate from the steel the primer and paint can't deal with the flexing once the lead starts letting go. Corrosion leaches in under the lead and lifts it up.

Or is the crack in another area? Bob

Its up where the roof begins to meet w/the pillar..so that would be the corner of the windsheild. I should of not worried about it, now I'm freaked-out!

Perhaps it is Galvanized? I read where some of the rocker panels are G and the metal to the L and R of my windshield appears to be G.
