I just ordered a set of "SS427" emblems. These are Trim Parts. My old 396 emblem laid flat on the grill. This part has two humps in the mounting bracket that make it protrude approx 3/4" off the grill.

Which is the correct/orignal way?

I went thru the Featured Chevelles, and its hard to tell, but it looks like Al's and Billy's 67 also stick out a bit.

So we're supposed to have "outies" and not "innies" ? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif

I recall the paint man said something about it being a Camaro emblem ( the 396) that was modifed to work, but I had no idea of what the heck he was referring to.

I don't recall, but I have one (mounted on the wall though), I'll try to look at that tonight... recieved someone else part shipment once (67 stuff), and supplier told me to keep it, not worth shipping back...

According to Al McKenzie it should stick out.
See the second bullet from the bottom on this link: http://www.chevelles.com/shop/66_67_ident.html

Yep, I agree. It should be an "outie"
