I thought I'd share this with everyone. My local ppg rep informed me awhile back that the original DP epoxy primer is available again in ppg's light industrial coatings line under part number EPX900. About 5 years ago the the DP primer was removed from the automotive line for environmental reasons and replaced with DPLE which many feel isn't as good of product. The original DP was moved down into the less regulated industrial coatings line under the new part number EPX900. I've been using the EPX900 and it works great, a good freind of mine owns a media blasting business and body shop and he has also been using it with great success. The best part is it comes in gallons, one gallon primer and one gallon of activator for two sprayable gallons at only $96 total! That's only $12 per sprayable quart. It is available in different shades of grey. Bob

I wish I had known about this other product though so I could have saved a few bucks...Thanks for the info Bob graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Bob, am NOT second guessing you but are you sure that new epoxy EPX900 is the same as the old DP?
The only reason I ask is cause Ive heard from pretty good sources that DP was relabeled under the OMNI line then some other line made by PPG. So am just wondering.
Am one of those that believe PPG cut lose a great product in DP, then replaced it with a product(DPLF) that was below par.
I really like using epoxy on parts that dont need a surfacer like core supports or frames, but have gone away from epoxy when PPG axed DP.
Ill corner my rep tommorrow or friday when he shows up, thanks for the heads up Bob...Eric
