I'm working on restoring the interior of my '66 SS. I pulled the dash off today and what I believe to be the old insulation was completely deteriorating. It was kind of like lint coming out of a pocket. I looked through the OPG catalog and see a firewall insulation pad. Is that what I need to replace the deteriorating lint? Also, how much of a chore is that? Does it require removal of the heater core, fuse block, pedals, etc? Thanks for any advice.

Simon, you're right, it's called the firewall insulation pad. Unfortunately, you're right again, it's not the easiest thing to replace, only because you do have to remove just about everything to do a good job.

Thanks Mike. Figured as much. To think, this all started out with wanting to replace a couple old bezels.........

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's fallen into that trap! "While I'm here I might as well replace......"
