How do you plastic weld? I assume it consists of melting the plastic and using some kind of filler??

What equipment do you use and is it hard?

I think it involves the use of a plasma arc or a plasma cutter with an adaptor tip especially for plastic welding. Other than that, it's pretty much the same as torch welding. But the filler has to be the exact same type of plastic, or it won't work.

I've only seen it done (I watched)- never did it - but the guy I saw used what amounted to a High Tech Hair Drier. Actually a heat gun with a very directional flow and a plastic filler rod. It looked much like gas welding or brazing to the amateur (me).
He indicated that it was very tricky to know when the plastic was soft enough, but before it turned liquid and ran.
