I am working on a 70 Chevelle with the SS guages. The printed circuit burned. I replaced the circuit and everything now works except the fuel guage would not move at all even if grounding the tan wire at the trunk. I replaced the guage and now it goes Way past full. When I ground the tan wire the guage now moves up about and 1/8 of an inch. I have about 6.5 volts at the connector by the trunk on the tan wire. Any one have any suggestions???

You have a poor connection somewhere either on the ground, power or sending wire. this can be either on the printed circuit board to the gauge or the dash connector. For the sending wire only fisher body connector. First try attaching a another wire to the sending terminal right at the gauge, (should always have a small fuse inline when testing anything) ground it, and see if the gauge pegs at "E".
