Finally, recovered my seats.
OPG came thru for me. I purchased a set from them about ten years ago and they sat until this past winter. Thats when I realized they had sent me rear covers for a hardtop. I have a convertible. Well, I figured I'd give OPG a call and see if they would correct their mistake. Didn"t look good for me at first, and I can understand their reluctance. Finally they agreed to take the old rears back and have PUI make up a new set. Supposedly they don't make 2-tone saddle any more. The correct color is 2-tone fawn, but 10 years ago they didn't offer the fawn. They actually used samples off my car and came up with the saddle. It was never the right color, but it was the closest i could find.
Four months later, they arrived. I installed them the next day. Came out pretty good.
I added some pics to my web site. Check out my link below.
Now I need to work on the body.........then........

PUI will make any seat covers the color you want as long as it came that way stock from the factory... although the shades may not be perfect but it will be pretty close. PUI has the books with all the color codes.

It is the suppliers that do not offer all the colors and the suppliers will not do your homework for you, and from what I found out most could care less!

Chris, what is your interior code?

Dan, its code 711.
Remember, I ordered these many years ago.
At that time no one even offered many 2-tone
colors. They supposedly sent my color samples to PUI
back then and they came up with the 2-tone saddle.
A couple of years later they started to offer 2-tone fawn,
which is what I think code 711 is closer to. At this point I don't
really care. OPG replaced the rear covers for me and I'm happy.
Also back then PUI wasn't too well known, I don't think they
dealt with the general public.

My 710 coded ragtop with Twotone Bucket Seats had the original interior when I got it... it was so faded I had no clue what color it was. I also thought mine was Fawn with dark inserts and thats where I ran into problems The suppliers were no help at all until I somehow got lucky and was able to get ahold of a Rep at PUI. He gave me the info about making any colors as long as they were stock at no extra costs and not a special order color, and told me mine was Twotone Saddle and gave me the Part#s for the covers.

Yearone did send me some color samples and they were the only supplier that would even go through the trouble of trying to get me the right colors even after I had the covers part#s and color codes from PUI. Of course I also had to wait many weeks as they were not on the shelf at PUI and had to be made. I guess the suppliers did not want to go through the hassle. From then on Yearone got all of my bigger orders... good customer service that I could not find anywhere else is the reason why, even if I had to pay more.

I did look at your rear seat pics and they are the same as mine (Twotone Saddle). And I did see an earlier post of yours about the 711 code. I do believe the Twotone Saddle is correct for your car also, as mine had faded to much lighter than stock and I was led to believe and thought it was fawn also. Only under the side carpet trim was I able to find the original Saddle looking color that was close to the Med Saddle on our covers.

Your seats look great by the way... Nice job!
(TIP)If you have trouble strecthing the front corners... a hairdryer is what I used, softened the material and it helped alot.

Sorry to ramble but your topic sure hit home with me!

You may be right. I just checked out some pictures I received from someone showing a 2-tone fawn interior and yes, they do look too light on the outside. My seats were also original, but they are bench seat convertible.
Your car looks nice. Is that Sierra Tan paint?
Question for you, does your rear seat bottom cover have a seam at the transmission hump? My first set did, but when PUI redid them they made it one piece like my original. I was pleasantly surprised.
Oh, yes I did use a hair dryer too on the front seats. The weather outside was perfect when I did the rears. Good tip. I also used a spray water bottle to eliminate the wrinkles. Worked amazingly.

Chris my car was original Sierra Tan...I picked what is called Saddle Tan that I felt was a little richer in color that would not be far from the original Sierra Tan paint that my interior still has... that is still in great condition. I just didnt have the heart to repaint the interior with it still looking so good. No regrets on my color choice either as my car is a summer cruiser and not a car show king. I have got a few trophys for my hard work with many compliments and no complaints on the color choice. And who cares if someone complains...it my car and I like it. As for the seam at the hump(there is no seam) on my rear seat cover bottom.
