I just bought a 69 Chevelle with a small block 307. I'm new at this so my questions might sound unsophisticated.
Did all the basic work to get her running well (plugs/points, belts/hoses etc.) Car came with the original Rochester 2 barrel carb. I replaced it with a Holly 4 barrel, which I noticed has 2 fuel ports. I only hooked up the single fuel line I had, because I did not know if I put a splitter on the fuel line if I would have to upgrade the fuel pump. So that's my first question. And, does this mean the carb is actually running on only two barrels?
Second question: Car stalls frequently until warmed up well, but then engine races, to the point it is sometimes hard to hold the car braked at red lights. I'm wondering if this is because of the fuel line issue, and the carb. not getting the right fuel/air mix, because I've adjusted the idle up and down, but both problems persist.
Advice appreciated.
