Hey everyone. I have been searching for information on the correct color for the floor pans on my 71. The underside of the car is the same reddish brown as the interior sheetmetal. It appears to be a semi gloss color. I have been told it is red oxide but I know this is not correct. Obviously it was some form of ecoat or dip that was used as the entire body was/is covered in it. Anyone have an idea on what would be a match or close? Thanks!!

The 70 SS454 my friend and I restored was red oxide underneath and in the interior. This was on a red car. My guess is that it is primer. They prime the whole shell and then paint the body the color it's supposed to be. They wouldn't paint the inside or underside with body color because it would cost to much IMHO.
