We're about to have the Velle ready for paint except for the roof. It had a vinyl roof and has the normal "moon surface" on large spots. We're going to have to fill most of it. What is the easiest way to kill that rust? I've read about guys going wild with a dental drill and such but there has to be an easier way. Right?

Most auto parts stores carry a product called EXTEND. It's a really good rust convertor and isn't as thick as por15.
Come in a spray or brush on. I would ust the spray after I exhausted all the ways to get rid of that rust. Naval jelly can help getting into the pits but you must clean it real good afterwards. Wash it down and dry immediately. Then use the extend..

well, if youre going to use some plastic in it anyway, id go ahead and sand blast it. go over it twice, if you blow a hole in it dont be suprized, there is this stuff called Fibrol, fibral fiberal, somethin like that, its water proof and hard as hell, make sure after you sand blast it to prep it really really really good, with some PPG DX579.
