My 70 Chevelle has the original tail light lenses, but the smoke from the exhaust is embeded into the tail light. What can I use to remove the smoke without damaging the plastic?

Fact or fiction
I was told in 1970 Chevrolet recalled the original tail lenses due to the revese lense not bright enough. That is when they replaced it with the bubble type.

Thanks

Try some scratch X from your local auto parts store, and if that dosent work I know 3M finness-IT fine scratch remover will work big bottle and is like $22.00 just sux having to get such a large bottle for a small job. I have gone through 2 of them bottles restoring parts for my car.:clonk:
