I am building a 70 malibu w/ factory a/c. What's the best way to deal with the evap./ heater blower swapout? MY plan is to go with an aftermarket system eventually that uses the newer juice. Good experienced advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

You would probably get a better response if you posted this in the heating and cooling section.

Might be best to talk to the people you plan on getting the aftermarket system from.

retroman, they sell an AC /heater box delete plate that will cover the hole in the cowl area. if you want to change it over to a heater only you can get a setup for that also. i have a heater only no air and , LOL i want to add the factory air.

look at vintage air. this is a very good system. you can run them in anything. they are made for indavidual cars. changing over is hard in an old car. 134a leaks alot more easy than the old stuff. i would think you would have to replace all of the o-rings, oraface tube, and the evaperator. i am not sure of what it takes. the easy way to go for me was vintage air. not sure if it is the cheapeast. the air i have looks nothing like stock. if stock is what you want not the way to go. hope that helps.
