Has anyone tried to fit the reproduction console top plate (9507994) from Ground Up or OPG to the factory console?

Does Ground Up and OPG get the same reproduction console from the same manufacture?

My console is in perfect condition except the top plate, some owner down the line decided to punch a hole in it for an ash tray.

thanks,
Steve

I replaced the top plate on my automatic because of someone cutting out the clock to put a tac in..the fit was pretty good i was surprised.Should be the same on your 4 speed console.I did end up buying a 4 speed repo console to make the swap to a 4 speed haven't got it installed yet but it looks decent.hope this helps

Mike,

Where did you purchase your top plate? I wonder if there are a couple of manufacuteres making these repros. I have heard mixed reviews about the quality.

Thanks for the feedback,

Steve

I bought both parts at orginal parts group.I think there all about the same but i can't say about the other venders as i haven't see those but would expect all to be the same.If your car is a cruiser with an occasional car show here and there then you'll probably be happy with the top plate.but this is IMO.Hope this helps you ....mike

Thanks Mike.

Was it a difficult task removing your top plate? I haven't tried to remove my top plate yet and I was wondering how big a project it is.

I'm hoping that the top plate is just screwed down on the base unit for easy removal?
