Two weeks is just fine try to keep it out side in the sun to cure it good and shrink it.

I saw a good way to tell.. Put some of your final mixed primer in a cup (one that you will no longer need) then let it sit in the same conditions that your car is in. You will see it shrink.. When it's done shrinking give it a few extra days for good measure! This should be a good indicator on how long to wait! martinsr or jimmyp will have better answers than me though!

A good way to "help" it cure is to scuff it off with some 240 or so and leave it that way so the solvent has an easier way out of the film.

how long after you spray it should you scuff in this manner martinsr?

As soon as it is hard enough to scuff. If the primer is thin and you are just going to 320 it or 400 (or 500 for that matter) and paint, just do that. 320 and let it set a while longer (a day or a week, what ever makes you happy) and then you can finish sanding. The "scuffing" allows the solvents to excape.

Jim, a few things on blocking....
Don't be cheap on the paper, buy the best. It will cut better and last longer (costing less in the end).
Change the paper often, don't try to get every penny out of it.
Remember, you want to cut as fast and flat as possible (get that? FLAT!) so the money you save on paper will give you nothing but a wavy caar.
